What is medical payments coverage?
Medical payments coverage (sometimes known as "med pay") is the part of your car insurance that covers medical expenses to treat injuries to you or your passengers from an accident involving your vehicle, up to your policy limits and regardless of who is at fault. It also covers you as a pedestrian if you are injured by a vehicle. Coverages vary by state, so be sure to check with your insurance representative to verify what your policy covers.
