Notification that the Application for Enrollment has been accepted/not accepted

Owner(s) of an affected home are not eligible to enroll in the Travelers Benefit Program if they are not qualified Travelers customer(s).  To be qualified Travelers customer(s), their home must have been insured under a policy that: (a) was issued to them by a Travelers affiliate and (b) was in effect on or before December 6, 2018.  The Travelers affiliates that have issued homeowners policies in Connecticut are:

  1. The Standard Fire Insurance Company
  2. The Automobile Insurance Company of Hartford, Connecticut
  3. The Travelers Home and Marine Insurance Company
  4. The Travelers Indemnity Company of America
  5. Travelers Personal Insurance Company
  6. Travelers Personal Insurance Security Company
  7. Travelers Casualty and Surety Company
  8. Fidelity and Guaranty Company (only as to personal insurance policies issued prior to 9/30/1999)
  9. The Phoenix Insurance Company.

Owner(s) of an affected home are not qualified Travelers customers if they have obtained a judgment against, or have entered into a settlement agreement with, a Travelers affiliate related to the presence of pyrrhotite in their foundation.

Upon receiving an Application for Enrollment, Travelers will determine whether the applicant(s) are qualified Travelers customer(s). If the applicant(s) are determined to be qualified Travelers customer(s), Travelers will classify the applicant(s) as either “past” Travelers customer(s) or “current” Travelers customer(s) as follows:

  1. If the home was not insured under a Travelers policy on December 6, 2018, the applicant(s) will be classified as past Travelers customer(s).

  2. If the home was insured under a Travelers policy on December 6, 2018, the applicant(s) will be classified as current Travelers customer(s) for as long as the home is insured under a Travelers policy.

  3. If the home was insured under a Travelers policy on December 6, 2018, but is no longer insured under a Travelers policy (or ceases in the future to be so insured), the applicant(s) will be classified/reclassified as past Travelers customer(s).

In order for an Application for Enrollment to be accepted, in addition to determining that the applicant(s) are qualified Travelers customer(s), Travelers must also receive a copy of the applicant(s)’ CFSIC claim approval letter from CFSIC. Once that letter is received, Travelers will notify the applicant(s) that their application has been accepted and they have been enrolled.

If the applicant(s) are determined not to be qualified Travelers customer(s), Travelers will notify them that the application has not been accepted.

If the applicant(s) are determined to be qualified Travelers customer(s) but the required CFSIC documentation (claim approval letter) is not received within six months of the application date, Travelers will notify the applicant(s) that the application has been put on inactive status pending receipt of the required documentation.
