More than 37,000 people died in U.S. motor vehicle crashes in 2017, including 3,602 in California. On top of that, more than 2.7 million people were injured nationally - nearly 7,000 every day. Distracted driving is one important factor contributing to roadway collisions today and it constitutes a serious and preventable health threat. This program explored insights into human behavior, technological innovations, advances in auto safety and other developments that revealed promising approaches to combat distracted driving and save lives.
