Distracted Driving: 'The Boss Made Me Do It.'
When it comes to preventing distracted driving, people often think about parents talking to teen drivers. But what conversations happen at the office? A recent poll commissioned by Travelers Canada indicated that 37 per cent of Canadians who drive, answer or make communications while driving, with 14 per cent citing wanting to always be available for work. And with more than 160,000 injuries reported on Canadian roads each year, it's no small matter.* The audience heard how a Risk Manager of a large bus line utilizes technology to monitor the behaviour of its drivers. Furthermore, they learned how to address risk management procedures for that technology and how the information is used to ensure the safety of the public.
This event explored why distracted driving is a business imperative that all risk managers should consider to keep their employees safe and their organizations operating effectively.
Takeaways:
1. Understand the business implications and liability related to distracted driving.
2. Learn how to build a safe driving culture at your organization.
3. Get tips on reducing distracted driving and influencing others to do the same.
