The Travelers Institute hosted its seventh annual Kicking Off Hurricane Preparedness Season symposium in collaboration with SBP, and the National Association of Women Business Owners New Orleans Chapter. The panel members took a fresh look at resiliency measures for the 2017 hurricane season. The group explored the latest developments around storm surge science and preparedness techniques for businesses and families.
Travelers Excellence in Community Resilience Award
Through its charitable giving arm, the Travelers Foundation, and its public policy division, the Travelers Institute®, Travelers has created an annual Excellence in Community Resilience Award of $100,000 to recognize an organization that demonstrates leadership in addressing community resiliency.
At this event, the 2017 Excellence in Community Resilience Award was awarded to the Lowlander Center, a non-profit organization devoted to helping lowland people and places through education, research and advocacy. Learn more about the award.
