Terms and Conditions for Participating in the Travelers IntelliDrive® 365 Program

Your participation in the Travelers* IntelliDrive 365 program (“Program”) is subject to your acceptance of the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms and conditions, you should not participate in the Program. By participating in the Program, you understand and agree to the following:

  1. Program Details:
    • To download the IntelliDrive 365 app (“App”) on your eligible smartphone, register your phone, enable permissions, and record your first trip in the App as a driver within 45 days of enrollment.
    • By downloading, installing or using the App, you consent to be bound by the End User License Agreement. Cambridge Mobile Telematics is the vendor for the App.
    • This Program is premised on capturing driving behavior data for each enrolled driver on the policy. As such, each enrolled driver agrees to maintain the App on their phone, carry their phone with them, keep it powered on while driving, and to not disable or manipulate any settings that are required by the App.
    • All enrolled drivers that have access to the App will have the ability to see the Program registration status and the driving performance for other enrolled drivers on the policy.
    • The App is intended to be used solely by drivers of legal age that hold a valid state driver’s license.

  2. Mobile Numbers and Text Messages:
    • If you provided the mobile number(s) for other drivers on the policy, you had full authority to provide us with those numbers, to enroll each driver in the Program, and consent to their receiving SMS/text messages as part of the enrollment.
    • The mobile number provided for you is for the smartphone primarily used by you and in your possession.
    • You are providing express consent to receive text messages and calls by an automatic telephone dialing system, automatic dialer or other means about the Program from, or on behalf of, Travelers or its vendors.
    • To opt out of Program text messages, reply STOP to any Program text message received. Following your request to opt out you will receive a final text message confirming that you have opted out of Program text messages. Opting out of text messages does not inactivate you from the Program.
    • Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier. Message frequency varies. Consent to receive text messages is not required as a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
    • Text messages relating to the Program are a result of your participation in the Program and are separate and distinct from any other text message you may request or receive from Travelers concerning quotes, policy(ies) or bill(s).

  3. Driving Behavior:
    The App collects information including GPS points, time stamps, screen engagement, and inertial forces which are used to assess driving behavior.
    • Driving behavior data, including speed, braking, time of day and phone use, is derived from the data collected and used to determine a driving behavior score.
    • A sufficient amount of driving behavior data must be recorded for each enrolled driver before their score can be assigned. A sufficient amount of driving behavior data is defined as 50 or more driver trips in the 365 days leading up to and including the day of the last recorded trip at the time each renewal is processed. In addition, after the first renewal, each enrolled driver must have taken at least 1 driver trip since the prior renewal was processed to be sufficient. Drivers that never meet sufficiency will be assigned an insufficient score and their driving behavior data will not be used. Once a score is assigned for a driver, that score will be used unless replaced by a new sufficient score.
    • The driving behavior score is used in rating and could result in the policy premium being decreased or increased. The impact to policy premium may be reduced over time if no enrolled drivers on the policy record a sufficient amount of driving behavior data at the time of each renewal processing.
    • The App makes predictions about whether you are a driver or passenger. If the App incorrectly identifies you as a driver or passenger, you can update trips in the App within 10 days of the trip while you are still active in the Program.
    • The App may also monitor for crash events.
    • Data will be collected while the App is on your phone unless you are no longer actively participating in the Program, as described in section 4. Data may continue to be collected for a reasonable period of time after participant inactivation or policy cancellation. If you wish to stop sharing your data, you may delete the App from your phone. Deleting the App does not inactivate participants from the Program but does prevent additional data from being collected.

  4. Participant Inactivation:
    You may stop participating in the Program at any time. You may inactivate participants within 45 days of policy enrollment to withdraw from the Program without impact to your premium other than the loss of your enrollment participation discount, if applicable. Inactivation after 45 days may result in your driving behavior data impacting your policy premium. To inactivate drivers from the Program, call Travelers or your agent. Deleting the App does not inactivate participants. If you do not download the App, register your phone, enable permissions, and record your first trip in the App as a driver within 45 days, Travelers may subsequently inactivate you from the Program and adjust your enrollment participation discount, if applicable. Inactive drivers may resume participating in the Program.

  5. Participant Removal:
    You may be removed from the Program if an excessive number of trips are updated in the App from driver to passenger. If you are removed from the Program, your driving behavior score will not be used, and you will be ineligible to participate in the Program.

  6. We reserve the right to revise the terms of the Program and inform you of the revisions by mail, email or text. Your continued participation in the Program confirms your agreement to the revisions.

  7. We may terminate, change, suspend or discontinue any aspect of the Program at any time.

These terms and conditions do not amend, or otherwise affect, the provisions or coverage of your policy. Having the App on your phone, or removing it, does not afford any coverage or alter the terms of your policy.

*The Travelers IntelliDrive 365 program is administered by The Travelers Indemnity Company on behalf of all underwriting companies issuing Travelers automobile policies, and Consumers County Mutual Insurance Company (CCM) for auto policies offered through Travelers Texas MGA, Inc. Reference to “Travelers” or “We” includes The Travelers Indemnity Company on behalf of such underwriting company including CCM. Automobile Insurance in Texas is offered through Travelers Texas MGA, Inc. and underwritten by CCM. CCM is not a Travelers company.
